WHAT'S NEW AT OUR OFFICE

First of all you will notice a name change. Our new office name is Ala Moana Dental Care. The reason for the name change is that we wanted a name that is easy to remember, tells where we are, and what we offer. Same great staff and dentists but when you call you'll hear "Ala Moana Dental Care..." Besides the new name we have another exciting announcement that will make seeing us easier than ever. We have expanded our hours and have appointments available as early as 7AM and as late as 7PM to make it easier for you to come in. Also we have added a second hygienist, Katrina DelaCruz, so you will have an easy time getting an appointment for a cleaning.

DENTAL TIP

More and more we are noticing patients with gum recession and exposed roots. When we look further we have found that many of them are brushing TOO vigourously with toothpaste containing abrasives. There is a simple way to check that this isn't happening to you. First, look at your toothbrush after a few months of use. If the bristles are bending out to the side you a pushing to hard. Second, put a small amount of your current toothpaste between your teeth and grind around on it. If it feels gritty you risk wearing away your gums and roots with continued use. A few safe options are to switch to a gel variety without grit or "Tooth and Gum Toothpaste" which we carry in the office and feel is the finest available for the gums.
