Tips on Brushing Your Teeth

We can't emphasize it enough, proper tooth brushing can do wonders for your oral health. While these tips may sound simple, following them and repeating the process will ensure healthy teeth for years to come!

1. Hold your toothbrush at a slight angle against your teeth and use short back-and-forth motions. Brush for about two minutes.

2. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and ideally after every meal, using fluoride-containing toothpaste. Make sure you use a soft-bristled toothbrush as it is gentler on your gums. Avoid vigorous or harsh scrubbing, which can irritate your gums.

3. Be sure to also brush the inside and chewing surfaces of your teeth. Don't forget to brush your tongue as well!

4. Replace your toothbrush every three or four months, or sooner if it becomes frayed.

5. Consider using an electric toothbrush, especially if you have arthritis or other problems that make it difficult to brush well.
