• One Thing Will You NEVER Regret Taking Care Of

What one thing will you NEVER regret taking care of for the rest of you life?

Please take the time to read this entire letter for in it you will learn what I believe to be the most important thing to take care of for the rest of your life. You see when life gets stressful, or too hectic, or filled with too much information it is so easy to become OVERWHELMED. To loose sight of what is most important. We all agree that family, work, something to believe in, and financial security are all important. BUT there is one thing without which NONE of the rest will matter.

The reason I am writing you this letter is that last week one of our long time patients came in to see us. We hadn't seen him in years but I remembered him right away. He was always fun to be around and had a great sense of humor. He also had a HUGE fear of the dentist. He came back to see us because of an abscessed tooth and a couple of nights without sleep. Fortunately we were able to treat the infection and get him out of pain. Unfortunately he had numerous other dental problems and on top of that had recently gone one dialysis due to diabetes.

Here was a man who was successful in business, had a wonderful wife, had raised two children, was active in his church and community BUT had one HUGE regret. He told me the only thing he regretted in his life was not taking better care of his health. He also went on to explain that it started with his teeth. He said he never made a conscious decision to let his mouth fall apart BUT he never took the steps he knew he should have either. There was always something else that was more important.

This in not the first time I have heard a story like this and being an imperfect person myself I know how easy it is to have health take a back seat. The really sad thing is that this is one regret that is so easily avoided. It's just that life gets in the way. It's time to change that. Please take a moment to go to your phone and call our office @ 941-5555 to schedule a visit. We promise not to lecture you about being overdue, not flossing enough, or anything else. Instead we will welcome you and treat you the way we would want to be treated at the dentist. We promise it's a call you won't regret makingÉfor the rest of your life.

Sincerely,
Declan Devereux, DDS

P.S.- When you return for a cleaning or check-up we will make a donation to Aloha Medical Mission on your behalf to help those less fortunate.
